Dr. Edwards is a native of Atlanta, Georgia with more than 20 years of experience as an educator.   He has received degrees from Clark Atlanta University (BA), Oklahoma State University (M.S. & Ph.D.).    He has served as a middle school math teacher, Instructional Coach for Math, Science & STEM, Instructional Liaison Specialist, and an Aerospace Education Specialist for NASA, Academic Coordinator, STEM Specialist, and District Math/Science Instructional Support Specialist. Dr. Edwards has worked in Title I elementary, &  middle schools, and the Math and Science Department at the district level.  He also has experience with special education, traditional and gifted students. He is currently serving as the District STEAM Coordinator at Atlanta Public Schools.

He is active in his community as a member of the Newnan-Fairburn (Ga) Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., where he has served as Guide Right/Kappa League Chairmen.. He is an Executive Board Treasurer for the West Atlanta Watershed Alliance and an Advisory Board Member for The Johnson STEM Activity Center. The Edwards family are active members of the Impact Church of East Point, GA.  He is married to his lovely wife, a father of 3; 2 daughters, and a son and a dog named Ginger.

His philosophy of education is that he believes “children are like caterpillars, they struggle through the chrysalis of education in order to emerge as beautiful butterflies”.  He often reminds his students that “once shown the moon you can reach the stars” is his way of saying to his students that they must see their dreams in order to achieve them.
