People often say, "Your debaters are so articulate, so well-spoken" and indeed they are, but their use of language extends far beyond how they sound when speaking. Our scholars are taught the power and nuance of words -- they are the contributors to and perpetuators of the #lexicon.

#LEXICON The vocabulary of a language, an individual speaker or group of speakers, or a subject.

Language is the great definer between humans and all the other animals in the kingdom. Collections of words, along with the ways in which we use them (like everything we create), change over time.

In this classroom, we invite our scholars to question, challenge, and expand the lexicon through the lenses of their personal experiences. Dexterity in communication - a human experience that binds us -breeds confidence, freedom, and capacity in academe and most importantly, in life.
